APPLE PIE
BARS
Pulse walnuts, oat flour, vegan butter, maple syrup, coconut sugar, and salt until a crumbly mixture forms.
Step One
Press the mixture into an 8x8 pan to form the crust of the apple pie bars. Bake the crust for 20 minutes at 350F
Step Two
Peel and cut 3-4 medium honey crisp apples into ¼” slices.
Step Three
Sprinkle cinnamon and a pinch of salt over the apple slices.
Step Four
Make the caramel by boiling down the coconut cream, maple syrup, coconut sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until a thick sauce forms.
Step Five
Toss the apple slices with the vegan caramel sauce until well combined.
Step Six
Once crust finishes baking, add caramel coated apples on top.
Step Seven
Crumble remaining dough mixture overtop the caramel apple layer and return to the oven. Bake for another 30-35 minutes until top is crisp.
Step Eight
Let the bars cool for 30 minutes and then move to the fridge for 3-4 hours. The bars will thicken and then you can slice into 16 squares.
